Welcome to my website, JCS42.com

Unfortunately, i don't have any pictures of myself to display here at this time.

I am a student at Utah State University majoring in Computer Science with an emphasis in Software Development. I am living on campus in the Mountain View Tower, however my home is in South Jordan, UT. After I have graduated, I plan to move to Seattle, WA which is the area where I was born. I love the Seattle area, it's so calm and cool, and it's almost never too sunny. As a plus, Seattle is a very technological area, so there will be far more places where I will be able to find work as a programmer. Most of my extended family lives in the Seattle area as well, and I would love to be living near them.

The formal education that I have recieved thus far in my life, is a high school degree from Bingham High School. In my spare time I have read several programming books which is where I learned the majority of all of the programming that I know. While I was in high school I took a web development class and a multimedia class. I also attended the Jordan Applied Technology Center (JATC) where I attended a web design course. The class itself did not teach me much because I simply worked ahead of the class and learned the material on my own time. Almost all of the PHP that I know was learned while enrolled in this class. Also throughout the course of this class I recieved several certifications, namely, IC3, CIW - Associate Design Specialist, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Flash CS3, and Adobe Dreamweaver CS3.

I enjoy programming very much, it is my life. I first started programming in middle school on my graphing calculator. After that I went on to do a little bit of Flash Actionscript 2.0 and Actionscript 3.0. Then I found the web languages, HTML, CSS, and PHP. These were the first languages in which I really dedicated myself and learned a large amount about each of them. I grew to love making wesites almost instantaneously. From there I went back to learn more in depth in Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0, and now am enrolled in college classes learning C++ and Java. I have spent countless nights confused on a problem with a program and have stayed up the whole night working on fixing the bugs in my programs instead of sleeping and trying to figure out the problem the next day. I am both willing and eager to learn more about programming and to work for any client to build them a website because it's as much of a reward for me as it is for my clients.
